    Xbox one won't turn fully on only has a controller picture on screen


    When I turn on my Xbox it shows the opening Xbox pictures and it goes to a picture of a controller with the Xbox button flashing and I can't get nowhere from there what do I do

    Hi and thanks for reaching out. I hope you’re doing well. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be happy to help you.

    Kindly try the steps below and see if it helps.

    -Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection then power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

    -Wait 30 seconds.

    -Plug the power cord back in.

    -Press and hold the BIND button (the one used to sync controllers) and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox Power button on the console.

    -Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds and listen for two power-up tones a couple of seconds apart.

    -Once you hear the 2nd tones please release the button.

    -If this is successful the Xbox will turn on and should start and show the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. On the Troubleshooter page, please select Reset this Xbox and then choose "Keep games and apps".

    If I turn on the TV, There is a picture. It just doesn't control the TV over HDMI. (No volume control, et c.)

    My Tv is a 60hz maximum and hdmi, I have a xbox series X only 2 months old brand new and the problem is only on this controller. I have fully factory restarted my Xbox, cleaned my controller in case there was debris and updated the controller but nothing has worked. Is this a setting that I may have enabled as it only does it on the Xbox Home Screen.

    Sometimes a hard reset of the console will fix subscription issues like the one you're describing.

    Just hold the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10-15 seconds until it turns off. Then turn the Xbox and your controller back on. You should see a green Xbox loading screen, if not you did not fully shut down the Xbox.
