    Xbox One Won't Recognize 8tb external hdd


    Hi I just purchased a Seagate 8tb hdd to use as a media drive for movies and show but my xbox one will not recognize it. When I first plug it in it gives me the option to format it for games and apps use but I select Use as Media device. After I go to the
    Media Player expecting to see the External hdd but instead get No Devices Found. I've re-formatted the drive multiple times but nothing is working, can somebody help me?

    Which Xbox One model would be best 4 me?

    from what ive read whether its true the xbox one will support upto 16tb external HDD though biggest ive seen is 8tb

    I believe you can have up to 16tb of external space on the X1 and 2 external connected at once.

    So I believe to get the max external HDD space you need 2 x 8tb external HDD

    i have a 5tb external on my One

    And on topic, you can have , at most, 2 x 32gb flash drives plugged in at once.

    the xbox will support up to 2 usb3.0 hdds externally at 8TB each for a total of 16TB. you can only have 2 hdd's connected though for game storage.

    If you wipe it clean of all your games etc, it should still work on another Xbox One as it`s already been formatted. If it did need doing, they would get an on screen message telling them so and a choice of what the HDD will be used to save.

    And you should be able to use all 8TB of your new HDD. I think the maximum total capacity of external memory you can have is 16TB with multiple external HDDs connected, with a maximum of 8TB per HDD.

    Hm...God, i hope not...I just bought a new 8TB external hard drive in december. unless you mean the internal one.
