    Xbox one won’t read 360 disks or dvds


    All the games I have tried work on other Xbox’s they are all back compatible I have tried many ways to fix it however non successful, please can someone help I dont want to have to spend money on the full priced games, especially bo2 being 40 fucking quid

    Hi,

    It's not the discs it's your console. If your console can not read DVD movies then it won't read Xbox 360 games either. DVD movie discs use the same type of discs that 360 games use (DVD-9).

    The Xbox One has two lasers to read discs. One for Blu-rays - which Xbox One discs games are made of - and one for reading DVD's and Xbox 360 games.

    Yea i have that all installed and everything, i put in Dead Rising and that worked right away, then i put in CoD and it says it couldn't read disk so i cleaned it and it work right away, but it still won't read blu ray movies. It will read DVD movies but
    every time i put in a blu ray movie it says it can't read it and to put in an Xbox one disk, blu ray disk, or DVD disk.

    This happened with 2 CoD4 disks. My xbox now reads both disks as DVDs instead of xbox game disks. One after being matchmade into a modded lobby (one of hundreds rampant in MP), one after a game crash in single player

    I think it is because the 360 uses HD DVD'S, most games that I have seen have been on 2 disks. With the XBOX One changing to Blu-ray disks, all game should be on one disk. Blu-ray disks can hold a lot more data than a HD DVD can.

    Xb1 won't play backward compatible anymore

    Please try a DVD movie in the console, There are two lasers, one that reads Blu-ray is the one that reads CDs and DVDs, if the DVD laser has failed it will not be able to read the disk

    As far as your injection issue, it certainly sounds like the drive is in the middle of sailing, and you will need to send it in for service
