Xbox one won’t connect without resetting filter setting

I’ve been dealing with this issue for a while now and I am fed up. All the solutions I find are the generic things I’ve tried hundreds of times. Whenever i turn on my Xbox it’s not connected to my wifi. If I go and try to commect it won’t let me unless I
completely restart my Xbox and router at the same time. My family gets annoyed whenever I turn off the router and it’s an all around inconvenience. I’ve found a semi solution where I save my router’s filter setting right before I try to connect. This sometimes
works pretty smoothly but other times it just won’t connect no matter what i do. I just want my xbox one to be connected when I get on instead of having to mess around with it for thirty minutes so i can play games I paid for on a console I paid for. My console
is a old, standard edition Xbox one and maybe it’s just on its last legs but i would really appreciate it if someome could tell me how to fix this.

I would try to see a few things to try. Go to SETTINGS, then SYSTEM, then CONSOLE INFO, and LAST CONSOLE RESET, pick option to KEEP ALL GAMES AND APPS, then console will restart, after restart do the SET UP, now when asked keep console on ENERGY
SAVING MODE, and test out, see if any improvement.

Have you tried a wired connection which is recommended?

Do you get to the dashboard or controller passkey?

How many devices are connected to your WiFi at any one time?

I used to goto Settings>Network settings>Advanced and clear the Alternate MAC address then allow a reset, but System in the guide then restart console should suffice.

During the course of a week I regulary reboot everything including clearing cache of the XBOX at least 2-3 times, but power everything off then allow the gateway (router) to function correctly prior to TV AVR and XBOX1X last.

You may be right that it's on it's way out so I highly recommend the XBOX1X 4K.

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this frustration.

I know you said everything you looked up sounds generic, but it would probably be best for you to try the steps in our

Xbox One Connection and Network Solution for this kind of problem.

Usually when it comes to troubleshooting steps to make sure your network is set up to work with the Xbox really well, port forwarding is the best way to go. When you get a chance, see if you can do following the info we have on

Network ports used by Xbox Live on Xbox One and/or
portforward.com.

So if you locked yourself out of your router by enabling MAC filtering without properly configuring it there are only two ways for you to get back access to it.

1. Connect the One wired and access your router with the Internet Explorer of your One and disable it. MAC filtering usually only affects WiFi connections, but not wired ones.

2. Reset your router to factory defaults. I can not provide your with details on that. Contact your ISP or router manufacturer on this.
