    I took my Day One Xbox One apart yesterday to clean 4 years worth of dust and cat hair out of it since it has started to run a little louder and "hotter" than normal. After putting it back together I did a network test and it says there is a problem with
    with the wireless hardware and needs to be repaired also my wireless controllers will not sync. I did some research and the wireless card apparently handles Bluetooth as well as Wifi. I never use wifi so Im ok with that not working however I would like the
    Bluetooth functionality. I've seen replacement wireless cards online, is that something that can be swaped out by Plug-n-Play or would it need to be reformatted or something before it would work? Repairing it myself would be better for me since it's out of
    warranty and I don't want to be without my X1 for an unknown length of time but I don't want to spend the money on a replacement wireless card if just doing a straight swap will not work. PLEASE HELP.

    Hey there J Man i1993.

    Having multiple Xbox One consoles connected to the same wireless network may be the reason for your connection troubles. Can you share what type of wireless hardware you're using? Let us know Xbox one wireless hardware trouble :)

    So every time I turn on my Xbox One it cannot detect my wifi. I follow the dialouge which takes me to the wireless settings. Then I click on test my network connection and once I do that it pops up with a message saying " You need to reset your consoles
    wireless card as there may be a defect with the wireless hardware" that's not the exact words but that's pretty much what it says, but the thing that confuses me is after I reset the wireless hardware in the console it says "every thing is good!" And from
    there everything acts normal and I can get on Xbox Live and go on with my day.

    Why does it need to be reset every time I turn on My console and why does it work perfecly fine after I reset it? Is this something that needs a repair or could it be a bug because it only started about a month ago.

    It works using the ethernet cable. But i want to connect wireless. I don’t want my ethernet cable all around the house
    If it works with ethernet but not wireless then your gateway/router is not broadcasting it's SSID or the console is in a position with signal interference.

    Do other devices detect the WiFi signal?

    Did this console used to connect to your wifi? If so, I had a similar issue with my Xbox One and my Xbox One S too. I fully shut down the consoles, took them outside and used a can of compressed air to clear out the vents of dust. That seemed to do the
    trick and helped somehow fix the wifi connection on both consoles.
