Xbox one wireless controller xinput driver

The left joystick on my xbox one wireless controller was causing my player to look up while moving forward. I uninstalled the xinput driver, and the driver did not re install once I plugged the controller back in. Now my controller doesn't work at all on
my PC. How can I re install the xinput driver onto my controller?

Xbox one Controller Wireless on Windows 10

So I have Xbox one controller connected to my laptop to play some game, I play Phantasy Star online 2 an JRPG game and it support 3rd party controller, the normal xbox one controller won't recognize the game because the game is not Xbox one controller
support, so I change driver manual in Device manager from Xbox one to Microsoft Xbox one controller and Human Xinput change HID control compliant and the game work normal but not for Xbox one streaming. Now I got Xbox one wireless adapter and the Wireless
adapter won't recognize the game controller and change manual driver only 1 preset driver and there's no way I can use wireless adapter to play any 3rd party controller support game, only game on steam support controller and Xbox one stream. Is there a way
to use wireless adapter work on game that support 3rd party controller ?

Xbox one controller not working as expected when wireless

I'm using Windows 10 with an Xbox One Controller. When I connect it with a USB cable it works as expected. I recently bought the wireless receiver, but when I use this the controller is not recognised as an Xbox controller. It shows up in device manager
as "XINPUT compatible HID device". When I try to use it on steam some buttons work, but I have to configure the buttons manually in each game.

I tried to "update driver" in device manager and select the xbox one controller, but that does not work. Will not let me select it.

Any idea how I can get the controller to work with wireless as it does with the cable?

Yes absolutely. It also supports wired controllers, Xbox 360 controllers and any other 3rd party controller that natively supports Microsoft's Xinput drivers.

Thanks for replying CarTzy. I have reverted back to the newer drivers. I use a cabled headset not wireless btw. I have noticed that when I plug in the controller via USB the the headset shows up in sound settings and is chosen so I hear sound, but when i plug in the wireless adapter - the headset option disappears from sound settings therefore is not an option and sound only comes out of the monitor, not the headset.

Anyway, once I re-input the controller via USB (having previously had it on wireless)- the controller will not turn on. I Have to delete the XINPUT entries in device manager and reboot first to make Windows re-install and re-recognize the controller and turn it on.

Not sure how to fix this; clearly the update XINPUT drivers are not working properly. There is nothing faulty with my controller or headset btw.

Are we talking about a 360 that is hardwired or a 360 controller that you have attached a Play and Charge to?

The hard wired 360 controller should just work. There are no drivers available to download on the Windows 11 as Win 11 already has these drivers b built in to the OS. If your controller isn't working, either there is something wrong with your OS install, the controller is faulty or your controller is a a cheap knock off controller that doesn't actually support XINPUT.

If you've attached the controller via a Play and Charge note that the 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. They can not send control data via the charging cable. If this is the case you'll need a 360 wireless gaming adaptor. The Xbox One Wireless adaptors don't work with 360 controllers.

Sounds like a faulty controller to me. Especially if it used to work but now it doesn't and the fact that you've tried it on two different computer's.

Downloading drivers won't help as there are no updated drivers. The drivers for the Xbox 360 controllers are built into Windows 10. There no issues with Xbox 360 controllers and Windows 10 to my knowledge.

The only way for sure would be to try another Xbox 360 controller or a third party Xinput supported controller. Failing that an Xbox One or Series X|S controller.
