Xbox One Wireless Controller with Chatpad not updating correctly on Windows 10

Hi Spooky. I am having the same problem. I have a standard Xbox One Controller and just received the Xbox one Wireless Adapter for windows and the Xbox One Chatpad.

The Wireless adapter works perfectly.

But with the Chatpad, all I get is the moderate blinking of the orange LED.

I read that the controller needs to be updated in order for the Chatpad to work, so followed the instructions to "Update via PC" found here:

support.xbox.com/.../update-controller-for-stereo-headset-adapter

Sadly the "Xbox Accessories" App for Windows 10 only shows me a picture of my controller and does not offer the needed update (I tried connecting over usb and the wireless adapter)

Can anyone help us?

Found the *sort of* answer to this.

I went to a buddys place and used his xbox one to re-rerun the firmware update for my elite controller. After doing that update, the chatpad started working. The Xbox One accessories app works with it in windows 10. Windows 10 does not have support for re-mapping
chatpad keys.

Update your console to the most recent Xbox One operating system. The chatpad requires your console to have a November 2015 (or later) update. For more information, see Xbox One operating system versions and system updates.

Turn on your Xbox One Controller.

Insert the chatpad into the controller.

Update your Xbox One Controller. The orange LED will blink to indicate that it's connected and requires an update. See Update your Xbox One Controller for more information.

Connect a 3.5-mm audio headset cable to the chatpad. For more information, see Connecting a compatible headset to Xbox One.

The orange blinking light means it needs an update, it says "You must update both your Xbox One console and your Xbox One Controller for the Xbox One Chatpad to work correctly."

Since your using it with your PC, attach a micro usb cable, run a update scan for Windows & Microsoft updates, and make sure all drivers are installed.

for assistance with the Bluetooth Dongle. Have you attempted to connect another Bluetooth device? I would recommend to try using the

Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10.
