Xbox Wireless Adapter and Framerate drops in games

    Hi,

I think this maybe similar to the BSOD issues people seem to have with the wireless adapter, there is certainly issues with the driver and some sort of leak. I start getting stuttering and framerate drops in rocket league after about 20mins of play time.
removing the wireless adapter and reinserting it immediately fixes the issue IN GAME (rocket league)

It seems to point to a leak or buffer problem in the adapter driver though everything is updated to the latest drivers.

Any ideas on this? or are we just waiting for a new driver to be released??

xbox one controller not downloading drivers on windows 8.1

Found this buried in another thread and resolved my issue!!!

I had similar issues to those in this thread, I've actually fixed my mt7612us bluescreen (bsod) on Windows 8.1 Pro x64. I'm posting this here in the hopes I can help at least one person.

In Device Manager I used the uninstall option on the Xbox Wireless Adapter drive, then pulled the adapter out of the USB port and restarted my computer. I then went to the MediaTek website, www.mediatek.com/.../downloads

Download the MT7612U driver it's the top option. You'll need supply some data to download. Run the setup program, it will place the latest MT7612U drivers onto your computer, after installation restart the computer.

After this, go to the link provided Microsoft Update Catalog and download the Wireless Adapter driver, Generic Controller - Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows driver. The 1.8mb archive is for 64bit (the file
itself is labelled AMD64) and the 1.7mb archive is for 32bit. Extract the driver to a folder.

Go to Device Manager and insert your Xbox Wireless Adapter, find it under Network Adapters. Right click it and select update driver software. Point it to the folder where you extracted the Wireless Adapter driver.

This fixed it for me and it's working great. The vibration feature works too, best of all no bluescreens. Really do hope I've helped rather than just taking up space.

XBox One Wireless Adapter Driver (BSOD)

Also having this issue. Only every had the latest driver installed as only purchased two weeks ago. BSOD only occurs after about 10-30min of gaming. Controller otherwise connects and works without issue. This is an older controller without thru 3.5mm headphone
jack. I updated the controller firmware

Same problem, same error message. Got my controller last week, worked fine first. Then first BSOD, second one, third. Happens more often, just a minute ago when I started my computer. Unplugged the adapter, now it's working. Gonna use the Gamepad with USB
Cable for now, even thinking about sending it back and get my money back. At least this seems to be a known error and I hope you are still working on it!

  6. This is also a problem for me. I get the BSOD with the sad face when no game is running and when a game is running I get a red screen and a restart. All linked to the wireless adapter driver. Quite annoying as I was looking forward to this product solving
my cable issue. Will stick it out for a few weeks waiting for a fix. Microsoft take there time but they usually get it right.

Updates to the driver are now available on Windows update (dated 12/8/2015).

As before, please right click the network adapter in device manager and choose to Update the driver through Windows update or download manually from

    catalog.update.microsoft.com/.../Search.aspx
choosing the one appropriate for your chipset (click on each link for the driver released on 12/8/2015, to confirm the chipset, x86 for 32bit and/or amd64 for 64 bit).
