    Xbox One wired controller keeps disconnecting randomly


    Hi,

    My Xbox One controller keeps disconnecting for 2-3 seconds at a time when online gaming. I have an Xbox Series X, with a 10foot micro-USB cable connecting the console to a stock Xbox One controller. I have my headset plugged into the controller.

    I only have this problem when playing online games, particularly COD. I’ll be playing and just get a controller disconnect warning for about 1 second and another 1-2 seconds for it to reconnect. During this time, I can’t do anything in game. My mic/headset also goes down during this time. Sometimes I’ll play for an hour straight with no issue, sometimes it’ll haven’t five times in five minutes. It hasn’t happened to me at all playing single player games.

    My console and controller firmware are up to date.

    I appreciate any help/advice

    I am sorry to hear that.

    The strange factor is this only happens with online games, this doesn't seem to be related to controller pairing issues.

    Have you tried to use another USB cable? It may be a cable malfunction.

    When using the controller via wireless, does it also disconnect?

    I've had this happen on occasion.

    When it does, although it reconnects on it's own, I remove the batteries for about 10 seconds, then put them back & trun the controller on.

    Seem's I'm good for the rest of my current session then.

    So what im seeing is no matter what controller you use on your xbox wired or wireless it ends up disconnecting at some point? But those same controllers work flawlessly on another xbox?
