Xbox One Wired Chat Headset on PC

Hello everyone,

The basic Xbox One Wired Chat Headset, I know it'll work when connected to an Xbox One Controller on PC, but is it possible to connect the headset directly to the PC?

I ask because I use a Hori Fighting Commander for Xbox One for fighting games, and it lacks an audio port. So if I want to chat with friends during casual _Killer Instinct_ sessions, connecting the headset to my PC directly would be my realistic option.

I currently do not own said headset, and would go buy it if it would work.

Thanks for the reply! I'll take a look at something from Turtle Beach then. I'd be looking for something that works with a direct PC connection, and to an Xbox One Controller (for use on console).

the original headset does not come with a 3.5mm jack but comes with a hardwired adapter that only plugs into the controller, no other way to connect it to the pc other than using a wired xbox controller or the wireless adapter with controller.

be better buying a one hear chat headset from turtle beach that has 3.5mm, or even better any usb headset as pc works with all including usb headsets.

It says on the website it is compatible with Xbox with a headset adapter.

it says...

Compatible with PS4, iPad, iPhone, laptops & PC. Also compatible with Xbox One using the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter found at www.xbox.com.

Can you explain what wiring is needed to use game chat/ party chat with this headset. Ive contacted the manufacturer and they said to contact you.

When you say "original Xbox headset", are you referring to the "Xbox One Chat Headset" ? If so, and I understand that you have already tried a few things,
but may I suggest following up with "Xbox One Chat Headset troubleshooting" . If you continue to have an issue, then I would check to make sure that the controller
is "Update your Xbox One Controller" .
