    Xbox one will not read any disc I put into it.


    Up til a few minutes ago my Xbox was functioning just fine, but I was suddenly thrusted into the main menu of the Xbox on. Now it is only letting me play the games I have downloaded and not any of my hard copies. I have tried cleaning the disc, cleaning the outer part of the disc opening holder, and restarting the system itself. Nothing is working. Is there something I can do to fix this?

    Hi Fallbackcoder04, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    Kindly follow the steps below to fix the issue. If you use standby power mode, change power modes, and power cycle the console

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power mode & startup.

    3. Select Power mode, and then select Energy-saving.

    4. Perform a hard power cycle by holding down the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the Xbox button on the console again to restart it.

    5. Try your disc again. Wait a few seconds to see if the console recognizes it. If the console can now read the disc, you can revert to standby power mode.

    -cleaned disc

    -restarted console

    I’d put it in again for the error code but every time I put it in I have to restart my Xbox because then my Xbox doesn’t read any disc after I’ve inserted fallout

    I would suggest if your console can't read the disc to put said content on to a USB Flash drive. The Xbox One can read this.
