Xbox one unable to select any channels

It recognizes commands (because can see it was relayed back to me in the right hand corner) But even though it recognizes it, no channel is selected.

I tried to just use my controller but when I selected a channel it didn't bring me to it and closed the guide, continuing to watch the show i'm on

DirecTV (HR24-500) Surround Sound Not Working

I also have an HR24-500 and Im unable to get XB1 to talk to it. I get the picture, but One Guide does not allow me to select channels. I see all the channels in One Guide, but unable to select them. any ideas?

Can't find a remote code to change channels on my Sky+ box with OneGuide

I've since found that with SmartGlass, when I directly control the remote, I am able to channel up and down, and select channel by number, so I am at a loss as to why I can't change channel with the Xbox One. Any ideas?

The Xbox One changes channels on your cable box (or whatever) using the same method as your remote control: sending an IR signal. Either the IR codeset you chose during Xbox setup (by entering the make/model of your cable box) is wrong--in which case make
sure you entered correct info and try other similar models if you did--or your cable box is not receiving the IR signals from the emitter in the Kinect--for example, due to obstructions, reflections, direct sunlight interference, etc.

Hey there glowshrimp!

Sorry to hear about the missing channels. For this issue we recommend reporting this through the Xbox One dashboard so that the proper folks can see this. To report missing channels, follow the steps below:

Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
In the Settings menu, select 'TV & OneGuide'.
Select 'Troubleshooting'.
From here, select 'Report a OneGuide problem' and report all issues that apply using the drop down menu.

Sorry for any frustration that may have been caused, but reporting those missing channels will get this information directly to the proper folks!

To anyone in Orlando who has this issue: Select Brighthouse Digital Channels and Show HD Channels only. Clear your history and all of your HD channels show up. Whenever I tell the Xbox to watch any channel, it now automatically goes to the HD channel!
