Xbox one turns on yet won't start up and makes a repeating mechanical ticking noise

Also, if you try a full
power cycle of your Xbox One console, do you see any difference there? Is your console connected to a wall outlet or power strip?

What happens when you say your Xbox One console is not "starting up"? Are you seeing the green Xbox logo splash screen or something else?

I'm having the exact same problem the 'X' on the Xbox and power brick is lit up but the controller isn't and my TV is getting no signal from the Xbox. I have to hold the power to turn it off then the power brick lights up when I
do this. it makes a kind of grinding noise along with beeping noises every now and then but it's always the same noises. I have tried resetting it, using different ports, unplugging it but with no progress. I am out of ideas. If you have any solutions please

My issue is that the fan ticks. The console is set up in a bedroom. When everything is turned off (or on standby), I hear this fast "tick, tick, tick" from the Xbox One PSU. I specifically built my PC to be as close to silent as I could make it, so I can
even hear the Xbox One PSU ticking over the sound of my PC when that's turned on. I'm not saying that the noise is "loud", because it's not. But any noise that can clearly and constantly be heard when a product is supposedly turned off is not good, especially
an annoying ticking sound.

Any mechanical noise apart from the fan being used and the HDD spinning up and down are normal, a ticking noise I have not heard of. Do they have a XBOX1X on display to see if it happens on that unit?

nope, still not loading up. it starts to spin then makes a couple clunking noises then stops spinning. then it repeats these 3 or 4 times and then that's when it gives up trying to load.
