xbox one turns on when my wife starts a video on her iPad

this has been happening for over a year and we know now it happens when my wife hits play on her ipad using Netflix, hbo go, or other video apps. her ipad has never been linked to my xbox for screen mirroring, and I've turned off every feature relating
to screen mirroring. over the past year it's become obvious because when she starts a video, she hears my xbox beep to power up. My TV doesn't turn on, and it doesn't load a game or app, it just sits at the home screen. I have the original 500gb xbox one,
the first model. She has a ipad pro 12.9. We have also turned off any setting on the ipad we could find relating to screen sharing or screen mirroring or 'push to tv'. I've also made sure there's nothing that could possibly turn on the xbox with the static
sensitive power button, including changing from plugged into a UPS, to a power strip, to plugging it directly into the wall. We're pretty sure it's not related to the power button, it's being triggered by the iPad somehow. On our router, I've even turned
off any network setting related to upnp or device discovery. any help would be appreciated

Thats online gaming. My biggest problem is when I decide to game at home, my wife starts surfing the net, my son streams games on his lap top, and my daughter starts streaming movies on her lap top, and usually the mother in law is over playing games online
via her iPad. I dont have a chance.

 

IR interference

When I turn my xbox one on my wife can't use her imac and I can't use my wireless keyboard on my pc, any suggestions

 

Hey bomb codes! Does the iPad have the Xbox app installed? If so, see if you're signed in. Is the iPad plugged in while or have any accessories attached while this is occurring? You may want to try a

factory reset of the console and reinstalling the video apps on the iPad to see if that helps resolve this as well. Post back and let us know how it goes!

 

Thanks for the reply. We just verified there is no Xbox app installed on the ipad. As for the xbox itself, the only accessories plugged in are a hard drive enclosure which snaps on the left side, and the micro usb cable that charges an elite model controller.
If I run a factory reset on the xbox, would I lose all of the save data, and have to reload all of my games? I guess I'd be willing to try either way as long as I can recover everything after the reset.
