    Xbox One to Steam Machine


    Hello, I recently purchased a Steam Machine to play my PC games. I know I can stream my Xbox to the Steam Machine over WiFi via the companion app (wired for me as both are connected via ethernet), but i was wondering since theres an HDMI in port on the
    Steam Machine, if I could somehow connect my Xbox directly to the machine to reduce any lag. TIA!

    Then I stand corrected.

    A quick read about this seems like it works like the HDMI pass-through on the Xbox One.

    Don't expect it to be exactly the same as playing on a TV or monitor though as the video signal has to be processed by the graphics hardware before it's displayed on-screen. Technically it should be quicker than game steaming though.

    As for getting it working, I think it runs via a dedicated Dell/Alienware application pre-installed on the Steam Machine. I think there is either a hotkey or button on the device, not 100% sure.

    I doubt it. If it's the device I'm thinking it is then the HDMI will be an HDMI out, not an HDMI in.

    I'm a PC hardware kind of guy, can you please provide a link of this 'Steam Machine' please.

    Not that I'm aware of. The HDMI can only be used to connect to a monitor, surely?
