XBOX ONE The update hangs in the middle and the remote control does not turn on

Thank you for the fast response, the controller is created by Microsoft, tomorrow I will try to check if I can update via the xbox I will go to my friend who has the console. Hope it recognizes the controller

It also fails because the software does not recognize the remote control even though the computer itself does recognize the connection, in a conversation with the support he claims to buy a new sign apparently. It seems strange that a proper sign that
the update is stuck in the middle suddenly does not work and I have to buy a new sign and no one answers. There must be a way to reset the remote and reinstall the software. I'm sure I'm not the first person that happens to him.

Apologies for the late reply but I highly recommend trying the steps I mentioned above on your friend's Xbox One console. I mentioned those steps would work on a console so I figured it wouldn't work on the PC but it didn't hurt to at least try.

Give those steps another try on a console and let us know if the controller turns on.

There is no way of resetting the firmware in the controller. Do you have a game store near you? You may be able to take it there and see if can try an update on a console. Also, is the controller a first party controller or a third party controller. First
party is made by Microsoft, third party is controllers like Astro, afterglow.

Thank you for coming to the forums, I'd be happy to help.

So it seems that unfortunately the controller was 'bricked" after a failed update which will not turn on anymore. This happens due to the firmware becoming corrupted since the update failed or was interrupted.

There is a way to get this fixed but it has only been confirmed to work using an Xbox One console, which you do not have but you can try the same method on your PC.

- Power down the PC by holding the power-button down until it powers off.

- Unplug the PC from the wall for 5 minutes to be sure everything is 100% discharged.

- Plug the controller into one of the PC's USB ports using a micro-USB cable. Make sure there is nothing else plugged into any of the USB ports. The controller should be the only thing plugged in. Make sure you take out any batteries out of the controller.

- Boot up your PC.

- While the PC is booting up, try to turn on the controller by pressing the controller's Xbox button a few times in 3 second intervals until the controller turns on.

Finally, head into the Xbox accessories app and make sure the controller updated as it usually completes the update during the reboot.

Not so figured the sign probably will not work anymore? Or through xbox one can I restart it?
