Xbox one- takes the fun out of gaming!

I am fed up with the xbox one. It's become a chore just to try and start a game and play. If it's not erasing 30 hours of saved game play because of cloud syncing issues it's always demanding an update for one thing or another that takes the entire evening
costing precious game play time for myself and my sons. I have owned 3-4 xboxes since they first came out, recommended them to countless friends and family, and now I'm regretting ever buying this "one". For the first time ever I have to be an advocate against
others getting one. It defeats the whole point of console gaming- easy to use, easy to manage fun on demand.

I hope all the user data, all the extraneous non-game related revenue streams and the control you want to exert over us gamers over how we use the products we bought and paid for was worth it for you xbox...

Enforcement Issue

getting banned for trash talking is like trying to reform half of the community, wasted resources, and it takes the fun out of gaming, they say gaming in itself should be peaceful and fun, without trash talking but thats bs

Hold your horses there bud.

Have you ever considered saving the games to the Hard drive? And if you don't want constant updates, then just put the console on offline mode. Better yet, put the console on Instant-on so those updates download while you are at work.

When your console is set to instant on, and you buy a game from, let's say, work-- your console starts downloading all necessarspellingy data immediately.

Before blowing a vein consider these options man.

 

Xbox one will never be as epic as 360 but neither are the ps4 and wii u

 

Thanks Lord Alaric for your effort to help! I did not spell everything out in my message assuming others could relate- I do save to the hard drive and I do play offline... These problems came up all the same. Cloud files over-write local files even though
set the opposite (losing 30hrs of Fallout 4- yes I'm blowing a vein), updates forced on you if you dare to turn online on and being unable to play offline until they are complete. Inability to actually manage your own stored files the way you want. Look around
the internet and you'll see countless other people with similar experiences of lost game saves and ridiculous updates issues.

I've endured the ring of death on the 360 in the past and went on to keep playing the xbox so I can say that these latest frustrations of lost time and effort and multiple phone calls to support are well in perspective. And if the assumption in these cases
is user error that's anyone's prerogative- I come from the view that well thought out products make the user experience simple and user friendly.

As for instant on again I appreciate your suggestion- I guess I'm feeling a little burned to being forced to trust everything to the cloud now more than ever.

 

Sorry you are having these issues. Cloud computing is being driven by everyone wanting their data available all the time from every where. Yes, there will be some issues just like with anything else. Fortunately, most users are not experiencing the issues

I hope everything works out for you. I myself have not bothered with the cloud side of saving as I did that with the 360 a while back and it kept my console on when I wanted it off.

It's always going to be rough the first time a company tries anything. Happy to see Microsoft hasn't locked the thread, banned the users, and put the viewers on a watch list. Shows they are willing to listen. gj gj LOL. Blizzard does this with their
ban-hammer frequently.
