Xbox One Stuck on DVD Language Select Screen Even After Turning Off

Hi guys,

Bit of a weird one but I tried playing a DVD via my xbox one today, same as usual. The DVD froze at its own loading screen, so a language select screen and I could just about hear noises of things either being selected or moving about "under" the screen. I removed the DVD and the screen didn't budge. I've tried turning it off and on again, off at the plug for a minute, unplugging it, etc., and every time the xbox turns on the same DVD loading screen remains. I can hear the sounds of things being selected when I move the controls and can actually manage to sign in and play the DVD and hear the sound, but the DVD language select screen is firmly frozen.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I'm totally at a loss.

If I understood correctly, you cannot guide through the menus to select anything, right? The language select screen is just there and you cannot leave it, right? If that's the case, please try to do a factory reset on your console following the steps below:

- Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

- Press and hold the Pair button (located on the left side of the console) and the Eject button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console (the Xbox Series S and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition do not have Eject buttons. Just hold only the Pair button nd then pressing the Xbox button).

- Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.

- The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Select "Reset this Xbox" > Reset and keep games and apps.

See if the issue persists and please let me know how it goes.

Oh, one more thing. There is not menu command for DVD/BluRay. So keep your other remotes handy for that. Otherwise it does great with the BluRay player. Even remembers where you left off on a DVD after turning the Xbox console off. Resumes exactly where
you left off.

If after selecting the language the console gets stuck, try this

Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 30 seconds.

Plug the console power cable back in.

Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox

Sorry to hear you are having this option. Have you tried doing a full power cycle or turning off auto HDR? Is it stuck on the green screen even after turning it off and back on again?
