    Xbox One stuck in Overtype Mode


    I recently got a Microsoft chat pad for xbox one, and a couple days later the xbox went into overtype mode and I can't disable it. It happens whether I use the on-screen keyboard or the chatpad. I don't have a USB keyboard to press the insert key to turn
    it off. The only solutions I've seen say it magically turned on and magically went away, not helpful.

    Anyone know how to turn this off without a usb keyboard?

    Accidentally Enabled Overtype Mode.

    So, I accidentally enabled overtype mode on my Xbox One. For those of you who don't know what overtype is, instead of placing a character inbetween two other characters it replaces the next character. Example: If I were wanting to type house but forgot the
    u, it would end up doing this 'houe'. I have no idea how I enabled overtype mode, but I would like it disabled very soon. Any help is appreciated.

    I'm sorry to see any issues! What an interesting issue, one I'm not sure I've seen before. Are you typing with the Xbox App on a mobile device or your PC? Or is this flat out on the console? I'd like to mess with some settings here, but I want to be sure

    XBox One Controller stuck in DFU Mode

    OK guys, I finally managed to get the Virtual Machine working (method is briefly described here : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...ay-stuck/76c94c49-2565-4e9b-a261-b60a711af018).
    So now, my controller is up and running again.

    I just baffles my mind that the Xbox Accessories app brickwalls controllers the way it currently does, and that the only version of the app able to fix the issue dates from 2016 (even worse, up to date versions of the app cannot fix the issue). That is truly
    bad design, especially considering the effort Microsoft is currently doing towards PC gamers.

    Anyway, this thread can be closed.
