XBox One stuck at 66% 88% during update

Xbox one froze on startup. I’ve reset and power cycled it. I’ve downloaded the offline update and gone through that process. It keeps getting stuck 66% of step 3 or 88% of entire update. What else can be done???

We understand that you're experiencing issues with your Xbox One update. We greatly appreciate your time and effort for trying to solve the issue proir sharing this to us. This can indeed be frustrating. Let's try some additional troubleshooting steps and help you sort things out in a timely manner for you to get back online.

Before we proceed, I will be asking you few questions to help us isolate the issue further: (you can skip the steps you have done)

1. Do you happen to get an error message? If yes, can you please provide it to us via screenshot?
   
2. How old is your device?
   
3. The next time you tried to update your device is through online, right? Having it connected to an internet.
   

In the meantime, I would recommend trying a hard reset of your Xbox One console. To do this, please follow these steps:

• Press and hold the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
  
• Unplug the power cord from the back of the console and wait for 10 seconds.
  
• Plug the power cord back in and turn on the console.
  

If the issue persists, you can try resetting your console to factory settings. Please note that this will erase all data on your console, so make sure to back up any important data before proceeding. There is an option that we can try selecting instead for choosing the option to "remove everything". Here are the steps to reset your console:

• Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
  
• Select Settings.
  
• Select All Settings.
  
• Select System.
  
• Select Console info & updates.
  
• Select Reset console.
  
• Select Reset and keeps my games and apps.
  

If the issue still persists after resetting your console, you may need to perform an offline system update. Here are the steps to perform an offline system update:

• Go to the Xbox One System Update Solution website on a computer.
  
• Scroll down to "Manually update your Xbox One console" and select "Download the Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool."
  
• Save the file to your computer.
  
• Unzip the file.
  
• Copy the $SystemUpdate folder to a USB flash drive.
  
• Plug the USB flash drive into your Xbox One console.
  
• Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.
  
• Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds or until you hear the power-up tone twice.
  
• The console should now start the update process.

same here. Xbox was stuck a 66% for HOURS! i tried the hard reset and updating offline via USB and the Xbox is stuck again at 66% again updating with a USB stick!

This is ridiculous. My XBOX One was stuck on 66% while applying the online update for hours. I decided to shut it off and cross my fingers. No luck. I got stuck on the loading screen. I have now tried a offline USB update and it is again stuck at 66%. Having
to do a factory reset is not a solution Microsoft. Please don't ignore this issue Microsoft.
