    My xbox one no longer controls my tv. On/off, volume - it doesn't do anything. It worked fine before. I tried entering the tv info manually, and that didnt work.

    I followed the steps from here: Use OneGuide on Xbox One | Voice Commands for OneGuide and checking the infrared signal. The fourth light was
    not coming on for me.

    TV is a panasonic viera p60gt50.

    Would you have chosen the xbox if it didn't have the tv features

    If the xbox one didn't have the new tv features like controlling your tv with voice commands, would you still have chosen the xbox over the ps4?

    Same thing happened to me. Turns out my Kinect died. MS wanted $60 for a refurb kinect, so I went to Best Buy and got the IR blasters that plug in the back of the Xbox for less than $10 to control my TV. Just so you know, the Xbone S has an IR blaster
    built in on the front of the console.

    Here are some problem solving tips:

    Try unplugging the HDMI Cable or Satellite Connections cables from the XBOX One.

    Try resetting TV in Settings manually.

    Xbox One S is changing the TV port

    There is a setting for selecting source on the xbox. Under start up behaviour and also control AV/TV that can cause this.

    I had it when I set the xbox to be able to control the TV with the xbox remote/IR thing.

    I just turned off the auto switch to TV setting, and the ability to control AV equipment and it stopped happening.

    Can you please check to make sure you are not obstructing the IR port on the front of your Xbox One S and also not blocking it on the television. On your Xbox One S the IR window is in the grey section near the power button on the front of your console
    just beside the controller pairing button.

    And now it’s working again. I ran through the set up again and this time when it sends commands they work.

    I’m glad, but I want to be able to know why it stopped and how to prevent it.
