Xbox one status menu stuck on offline, unable to select the status option.

Hi there,

Since 1 day ago the option to change the status on my Xbox One from the System > Settings > Personalization > My profile is stuck on offline and it is not possible to select the option. When being on the profile page I start at welcome, normally 1 down is
the status option, but this is not highlighted and showing as offline. pressing down again gets me to "customize profile" and this is highlighted as to be expected. Only the Status selection seems to be impacted.

rebooted the box > not solving the issue

full shutdown > not solving the issue

full shutdown with pulling power (30 minutes) > not solving the issue

to be clear: status is actually showing offline and friend also seeing m e as offline, so not to be mistaken for people seeing me offline while box is showing online.

OS version: 10.0.18362.2006

any solutions or thoughts?

Thanks for coming to the forums. We recommend trying to
remove your profile then install it back on the console. Sometimes profiles get a glitch or corrupt. This will resync the profile correctly.

Hi Brad, thanks for the quick reply.

the issue here does not have anything to do with my profile, but the menu option to change it from the "My profile" page.

you cant select the status menu, you could almost say like it is "greyed out" or "Managed by your organization"

I posted your problem on the Insiders Reddit site and a reply states where you can find the release notes.

As you are an Insider you really should be using the Insiders forum on Reddit.

I'm glad I saw your post as I missed this issue cos I always use the method I told you about.

Have you tried...from the guide moving to the left and clicking gamerpic above sign out and choosing to go online, offline or do not disturb option from there?

that seems to work (changing the status), but when switching to online or do not disturb this reflects the stastus notification in the "My profile" page. however the option there is still broken (that is: not possible to select / change it from there).

dont know if there has been a recent update, since these are installed automatically, but it seems that menu option there is broken.

I did a bit more digging (I'm an Insider), and the option you used is a known issue mentioned in OS release notes. The workaround is to use the method I previously posted above.
