Xbox One S will not connect to WIFI unless router turned off and back on

Help please. I am struggling to understand why my brand new XBOX One S will not automatically reconnect to my WIFI when all my other devices including PS4 have no issues.

Every time I attempt to login into my Xbox it has disconnected itself from the WIFI. The only way to get it to connect is to reboot the router and it works fine until I turn it off and close down. I have read that there is an issue with Xbox trying to connect
to a 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz but my router has only 1 channel.

Anyone help please as this is so frustrating for my kids and me!

For info I am getting over 46Mb download and the router is in direct sight of the Xbox. My other devices are in other rooms!!

    Thx in advance.

    :)

Oh and I have run through the help pages and these do not fix the issue. I can guarantee tomorrow when my kids turn on the xbox it will not connect to the WIFI unless I restart the router.

    Thx....

Thanks for the reply but the issue is not hardware, the router and WIFI signal is more than adequate, it is quite simply that the xbox will not reconnect automatically when its switched on. There are a number of forums which seem to point to a microsoft
issue which they do not seem to want to address. My PS4, IPAD, etc..... have no issues whatsoever.

Restarting the machine is not the answer as this is basically what I am doing, the only way is to restart my router as this seems to drive the xbox to reconnect and then after a few minutes we are ready to go.

But why should I need to restart my router every time I turn on my xbox? Microsoft please HELP.......!

    Thanks!

    Hey there smartind,

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this . I would suggest that if the previously posted troubleshooting did not do the trick, there's also this little trick that I like to do that resolves a bunch of general
problems that you may have concerning your console. When you get a chance to goSettings>Disc & Blu-ray>Blu-ray>Persistent storage
and clear it 3 times. After doing that, go to
    Settings>Network>Network Settings> Advanced Settings> Alternate MAC address
and clear that alternate MAC. The console will say it needs to restart to apply the change, so let it do that, sign into your network and see if the problem persists.

    Hope this helped.

Let us know and thanks for reading!

    Hi

It might be worth repositioning the console slightly just incase the wifi signal is not very strong where the console is located. If you have not already done so I would also look to getting your console to forget you wireless network and reconnect it to
    the network.

    Hi, sorry to hear that.

    Try follow this steps:

    1. Check your internet connection. Obvious maybe, but any connection interruptions could derail the entire process.
    2. Try again later. If you are having an issue with downloading the update it may simply be a problem on Microsoft’s end, including too many users at once or server maintenance. Give it an hour or two. If the issue remains, check the Microsoft Live Status
page. If there is a known issue on its end, Microsoft will have a status alert.
    3. Check your hardware. Again, an obvious one, but if you are using the wireless connection on the Xbox One and receiving an error, try a wired connection via Ethernet.
    4. Cycle your Xbox One. Hold down the power button for five seconds until it shuts down, then unplug the system and wait 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on. This clears the cache and resets the network card.
    5. If you are receiving a specific error message regarding updates or an online connection in general, refer to Microsoft’s network connection error list.
    6. If the update still won’t download, it’s time to contact Microsoft.
