Xbox One S wi-fi suddenly keeps disconnecting every ~15mins (faulty wifi card?)

Hello,

The wi-fi on my Xbox One S suddenly stopped working consistently this past weekend. It now disconnects every ~15 minutes. I can restart the console or re-connect the wi-fi network to get back online but it will just disconnect again. Everything else on wi-fi
works fine (speeds, latency, signal all good)

I've spent the last 3 days looking through reddit and forums and tried a ton of things, but nothing is working. Here's what I've tried so far:

Forwarded ports recommended by Xbox (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/network-ports-used-xbox-live)

Turned on DMZ on router for my Xbox One S

Assigned a static IP address

Turned on UnPnP

Reset alternate MAC address

Changed DNS to 1.1.1.1 and
1.0.0.1

Power cycle console

Reset console

Any ideas on what can be done at this point? I'm beginning to think the wifi card in the Xbox is simply broken at this point.

Note: Setting up a wired or powerline connection is not possible. I'm renting a room and the router is located on the second floor and belongs to another tenant.

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with connecting to the network connection on the Xbox One S. I recommend to try the following article: I
need help with my Xbox One network connection.

If the issue persists, I recommend to try the following to help isolate the issue:

Try connecting the Xbox to a different network to help troubleshoot the console itself. If the issue persists, then the console will need to be repaired.
If the console connects, this lets us know there is an issue with the network configuration. We recommend to contact the Internet Service Provider.

Give this a try and let us know the results.

I tried this but still getting disconnected at random times. Although today, I was able to play an online game for about 3 hours before being disconnected.

I installed the Wi-fi analyzer app on my phone, and switched the router channel to something that was less congested. I also changed my Xbox's DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Any other ideas?

After 6 days of troubleshooting this, I think I found a solution. I found the 5Ghz network that my Xbox was connected to was very congested (there were tons of other 5Ghz networks in my area). Changing the channel didn't help.

I tried changing the channel on the 2Ghz network and connected to that instead and that seems to have fixed the issue.

Even though 5Ghz is supposed to be less congested, everyone seems to prefer that over 2Ghz. When I looked at the Wifi analyzer app, there were tons of nearby 5Ghz networks. I think it was causing dips in signal strength, causing my Xbox to disconnect from
Wifi. On the other hand, there's not that many 2Ghz networks and some channels weren't being used.

Just to clarify: when my Xbox disconnects, it only happens to my Xbox - it does not happen to any other devices on the network. Not sure if changing the channel will do anything as the signal strength is very good but I'll try it anyways.
