I left my Xbox One S on to fall asleep to like I usually do and have been doing for 2 months now. It will auto shut off after 2 hours and It started a new update. Now it’s stuck on Verifying (100%) and it’s a 58% stuck. It won’t go past it. I’ve tried troubleshooting and it still doesn’t work. I don’t have a memory card or anything of the sort to use to repair it and now the console is bricked. I’m very upset at this because this happened with my One X and I didn’t have the money to replace it. Now I have to replace my One S and I don’t even know if I can do that. This is the second time it’s happened and the One X is completely broken at this point so there is no going back. The One S now has a similarly problem, that seems unlikely to be fixed. I’m not sure if I want to even buy another Xbox at this point because it’s happened 2 times. I might just go buy a different console brand, because this has never happened with them. Considering I used them from the One to the 4. And now my dad owns the 5, and nothing has ever needed to be replaced on those systems.

    :)

That would be doable. If the sync button didn’t just randomly stop working. This One S was brand new when I bought it and it slowly over time stopped working, bit by bit. The console was kept in one place and never moved. Had routine cleaning and maintenance done. And it still didn’t hold up. I’m using the Xbox One S, with the disc drive. But it had be removed for issues with starting and removing the disc drive solved that issue. Now it won’t update at all. And it’s still broken.
Unfortunately, since you opened it up to remove the hard drive, we cannot assist you here, The discussion of self repair is not allowed in these forums.

Hello XxGuildxXXxCloudzxX, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your console.

Please try power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. Then unplug it for 30 seconds. Then hold the Sync button (left side near the USB port on the original Xbox One and just below the power button on the S and X consoles) and the Eject button for the console then press the power button and hold until you hear a second start up noise.

If you are using the Xbox One All Digital console then you only need to hold the Sync button and then press the power button to reset.

You should now see a new screen. Scroll over to Restart/Reset and reset the console to factory settings. There is an option to keep installed games and apps so you won't need to redownload them.

It’s fine. I don’t care anymore. Xbox Support couldn’t help me either. I guess I’ll just buy another console. Again.

Resetting the Xbox to factory settings didn’t help either. It’s stuck in a loop and is no longer in working condition. I’ve had to fix this Xbox more time than I would like to considering I payed $300 for it and had to spend almost $50-70 on top of it to keep it running.
