Xbox one s turns off randomly ... Not hot and power supply good.

I plugged it directly into the wall. Turned on the Xbox One. Waited 1 minute. Turned off the Xbox One so the power supply would go into Standby (white LED).

Went to walk the dog. 15 minutes later, the power supply was getting very hot.

Your Xbox One console may unexpectedly turn off under the following circumstances:

The console is too hot.

There's a problem with the power supply.

Reset your internal power supply

The Xbox One S and Xbox One X have an internal power supply that works in all regions worldwide. If your console won't turn on, it may simply need a power reset. Often, power issues are due to the power supply resetting after a power surge.

To reset the internal power supply, follow these steps:

Unplug the power cord from the console.

Wait 10 seconds.

Plug the cord back into the console, and then press the Xbox button on the front of the console.

or perhaps your power supply is clogged and overheating...

Randomly by itself? First see if the power cables are connected properly - if they are take them out and put them in again to be sure.

Your Xbox One console may unexpectedly turn off under the following circumstances:

Thanks apostle vx. Ever since I got my 360 slim OVER a year ago, I've been using a surge protector that also connects to my tv, vcr, and dvd player.

I just tryed my xbox a 3rd time, and when it turned itself off, the light was red again on the power supply, but there's a catch......

This time, my power supply was too hot to touch...at least on the bottom. Everywhere else on the power supply, it was also VERY hot, but not too hot to touch. It has to do with the fan, I bet.

Also, right before these errors started to happen, I cleaned dust off of where the xbox sits, as well as off of the xbox itself and the power supply. During cleaning, I
turned the power supply upside down to get more dust off, if that matters at all.

Then, when I turned on my xbox, the whole system wasn't whisper quiet anymore. I could hear the power supply from anywhere in the living room. After a few days, the first red light on the supply appeared, then the second.....and
that's what got me here.
