Xbox One S turning on TV across the room?

I’ve recently moved into an apartment with some friends, one of which I share a room with, we have separate televisions and whenever I turn on my Xbox, it either turns his TV on or off upon start up, there is nothing connected to his television other than
his D/C power cord and his PS4 via HDMI (little bit of rivalry in this household). Does the Xbox One S send out infared in some fashion or sense? Just curious as it came off a bit spooky initially.

Xbox One turning off/on Xbox 360 when not connected.

Are you sure it's the 360 console turning on/off and not just the TV? If it's the TV, it's probable that the IR blasting that your Xbox One is doing to turn off its connected TV is also reaching the second TV and turning that one on and off.

If its like the Xbox One X then yes, it can send out infrared signals.

At some point you must have set up your console to turn your TV on, or it may have been switch on by default.

Go into settings, TV section I think, or it could be under the power section, cant remember. Either way there is an option in there somewhere that asks you what to do when the Xbox is switched on/off, one of the options is to turn the TV on.

The downside for me is that I can't use the smartglass app very effectively. The Xbox One, being the all-in-one entertainment device it's supposed to be is in the family room/den/TV room or whatever you guys would personally call it. My PC, which holds the
Xbox One SmartGlass app, is in my bedroom. Both rooms are across the house from 1 another - that's not exactly what I would call convenient... =(

I just pre-ordered the Xbox One S at Best Buy, having it shipped, and am keeping my Elite console too. I'll keep the Xbox One S in the living room to go with the 4K TV and the elite in my bedroom.

I have only had 1 controller that I had issues with pit of the 7 that I owned. It would disconnect randomly after I had it about 4 months. Turned out one of the solder joints was older across causing a short. Some of them have worn out from use. On my
xbox in the back room it would randomly disconnect from any of controller. Had to move my xbox further from my TV and it fixed that issue. Think it was picking up interference from the tv. Problem stopped after that.
