Could you clarify what is occurring when attempting to connect the controller directly into the Xbox One console?

Are you receiving any error messages?

Or is the controller not being detected when connecting it to the console?

Currently the only information given is in regards to not being able to do it, but not exactly what is telling you that you're not able to.
