Xbox One S significantly slow, is this normal?

This has been an ongoing problem with my Xbox One S since nearly when I received it as a gift many years back, which is why it feels like it might be supposed to be this way, but that doesn't seem right at all.

    - It is slow to boot up.

    - It is slow to launch any app, game or otherwise. These days more often than not it won't even launch whatever at all and instead will give a timed out message after a long wait.

    - It has a tendency to act like it isn't connected to the internet (wired or wireless, 200+Mbps cable) even when it just downloaded a system update and will show me my active friend list.

    - It will get stuck on pages with just a loading animation, such as when trying to look at system file management or game updates/dlc.

Most major things I have tried:

    - Soft reboots and hard reboots

    - Power cycle

    - Factory reset (both with and without games kept)

    - Clearing the MAC address

    - Clearing the Bluray cache

    - Turned off Instant On

My console doesn't even have many games on it. It is primarily my Rock Band home with some Phantasy Star Online 2 (which has terrible graphical lag when I play on my One S) on the side. I'm spending more time regularly doing troubleshooting when I boot up the
system than actually playing games, which has become increasingly tedious.

Any aid regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and help.

    :)

Xbox LIVE downloads terribly slow... Great Home Network Setup.

one of the downside to the xbox 360 is sadly is does not have a gigabyte Ethernet port so that will significantly slow down the speed by capping it.

Very slow downloads on my Xbox X

Are you over WiFi or Ethernet? I suggest the latter, as 4K content downloads are quite big, and Ethernet is the most reliable way to connect your Xbox to the internet.

If you are currently streaming, like on Mixer (for example), background downloads would be slowed significantly.

X box one s graphics are pixelated

"The Xbox series S is a more than capable gaming console with an excellent power to price ratio that targets 1440p and can output upscaled 4k.

As a result you should not be getting significantly noticeable 'pixalation' over the series x."

The original poster bought an Xbox One S, not a Series S and was comparing it to an Xbox One X, not a Series X.

HD Cable - XBOX ONE S Cable Signal Upscaling vs. Native 4K TV upscaling

I found on normal Xbox one, the HDMI passthru was significantly worse than by passing Xbox.

So maybe the up scaling is fine, it is just the signal gets degraded too much before the up scaling step happens.

Dragon Age Origins or Dragons Dogma?

Dragon Age 2's combat is significantly better.
