    Hello everyone,

    This coming holiday season, I'm considering returning to console gaming and the Xbox platform.

    I have an older TV, a Samsung LN32C350D1DXZC from 2010, which has a native resolution of 720p (it does support/upscale to 1080p however), and I don't have a speaker system, I simply use the TV's native speakers. So for me, I won't be gaming in 4K or enjoying
    surround sound, which is fine.

    My question is, with the Xbox One X console, what benefits would I get from it seeing as how I have an older TV? I know it has much better hardware (it's similar to my current PC, actually) than the Xbox One S, so I believe games might have higher texture
    qualities if they're enhanced for the "X," as well as faster load times, but how significant a jump would this be?

    Also, for recording game footage, what resolution and frame rate does the "S" record at compared to the "X?" Is it 720p at 30 FPS vs 4K at 60 FPS? Can clips recorded on either console be easily transferred to a PC for editing and uploading to YouTube?

    Current games I play on my PC that are on Xbox One would be: _Mortal Kombat 11_, _Killer Instinct_, and _The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition_. I'm listing those in case someone's able to provide examples of texture quality difference and such
    with them, as I believe each is "X Enhanced."

    Gaming with 4k on Xbox One S

    Xbox One S and X does not support 4K at 120hz and to get 4K at 120hz you need a HDMI 2.1 port on both console and TV,

    also the Xbox One S is a 1080p console that upscales to 4K unlike the One X which is 4K console.

    Although both the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X can both stream 4K, only the One X is capable of true 4K gaming. I would recommend the XBox One X over the XBox One S because it only one that can truly do 4K gaming! The XBox One S can upscale 1080p games
    to 4K but isn’t a real 4K console, although it can play Blu-Ray in 4K. The XBox One X is the first console to truly be able to stream 4K gaming, plus it has a Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray player!

    Hello Spoons,

    We suggest that the following troubleshooting 4K and HDR on Xbox One X and Xbox One S support article is
    followed considering that the console is more than likely setup for 4K resolutions as you mentioned switching from a non 4K Xbox One title to Red Dead Redemption 2.

    Try following this and let us know if this works.

    4K content in Xbox one

    The original Xbox One cannot produce 4k images. Only the Xbox One S can (sampling) and the Xbox One X (true 4k).
    That's right!

    And remember: S and X consoles doesn't need firmware updates to play 4K content.

    Xbox One X won't play 4K from Sky Q through input and output HDMI Connection

    The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

    The Xbox One S Supports 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution - not 4K gaming

    The Xbox One X Supports 4K Gaming, 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution

    - Game developer has to make the game 4K

    - 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

    off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)
