Xbox one s not working after only one year.

My brother and I purchased an Xbox one s around Christmas time of last year - the warranty just ended a few months ago. Earlier today i was playing on it (from game pass) and my full game froze, I exited to home menu and relaunched the game,, it wouldn't load so i tried launching the disc inserted, the screen went blue and froze, after a few minutes i hit the Xbox button and the half screen popup opened, the it fully froze. it wouldn't let me turn it off so I unplugged it. after I let it cool down and plugged it in again it the tv was just saying no signal. it also would not connect to the controllers although if I plugged them in the could turn it on then disconnect. I have tried everything, changed cords and TVs and also used every method to factory reset it i could find online. nothing is working. the disc drive works fine still and i can hear the fans. does anybody know a possible fix for this or is it dead?

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I am sorry to know about the console situation; However, the console might either need just a system refresh to perform the system update successfully or you will need to change the HDMI cable. I would like you to go through the following steps to perform a quick power cycle.

I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

If you are still getting the same issue, I would like you please to kindly follow the instructions below to physically reset your console:

- Turn off the console unplug all the cables then re-plug them back again.

- Since the console is an all digital one, click on the "Bind" button, after 10 seconds click the home "X" button just once without letting go of the button. Throughout the whole process you will hear two beep sounds and end up with a troubleshooting page. On your screen. You will need to select the "Reset this Xbox" option and choose "Reset and keep my games and apps".

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

In case all previously mentioned troubleshooting steps weren't helpful, the next solution would be to perform an offline system update. In the link below you will be directed to everything you need to know about the offline update and how to run it.

hello, I'm sorry for the confusion, but I have an Xbox one s physical version, not all digital. is there a way to do this with one of those. Thank you.

Same deal 1 year out of warranty quit working!!!! $400 gone .... rip off ... of course if i had gates money wouldn't be a issue ..... keep the rich rich and the real working man depressed workless junk

Flight sim 2021 is only series and pc compatible

Xbox one s would choke just loading the loading screen.

Why in heaven's name would you think 10 year old hardware run a game that makes 3-5 year old pcs have trouble runnung

Just a fyi the s/x means the series x and s not xbox one

The xbox one games all work on the xbox one regardless of letter

Not to mention all xbox one games are compatible with xbox one games there is no s or x designation for requirements on xbox one

It depends on what you're after. Getting the new system future ptoofs it for 5 years at least and looks great with 4K. If you only have a 1080p TV and don't mind upgrading in a few years when the new one is cheaper, get an Xbox One S
