Xbox one S not recognizing I have Xbox live

Hello I have a troubled issue with my Xbox one S and would appreciate some help. I have had my regular Xbox one since the day it came out and I am having no issues signing in and playing games online. But about a year ago I bought a Xbox one S (because
it has 4K features) and only ever used it as a portable xbox and never used it at my house. So in the past year I have only used it maybe 3-5 times for less than an hour each session. But never had an issue signing in and playing online at the time on that
one either. I havnt used the Xbox one S in at least 6 months now and I finally set it up in my room to get the whole 4K experience but it is not recognizing that I have Xbox live. I can LITTERALLY play online on my regular Xbox fine and then unplug and sign
into Xbox one S right next to it and it says “you need to have Xbox live to play” and wants me to purchase again. And even if I hit purchase it says error and sends me back. Please help as this seems like a console issue not an Xbox live issue. But the console
has MAYBE 5 hours max played on it. i have tried resetting, tried unplugging for 30 seconds while resseting, tried removing profile resseting and redownloading profile. Made sure its up to date. Im stuck dont know what to try next. The xbox home screen looks
normal and i can still view all online features but as soon as i try to play ANY online game i get the “need to have xbox live” message. Please help

I have tried this i THINK. The only thing throwing me off is by reinstalling do you just mean signing back in? Because i have removed the profile from the account and then did a hard reset followed by unplugging for 30 seconds. Plugged back in turned on
and then pressed middle button and hit “add new” basically just signed back into my account adding it back to the xbox. Still same issue. Almost wanted to try “restore factory settings” for the xbox and see what that does as i dont remember if i tried that
or not last night, but i know one of the things i did it asked me if i wanted to reset but save games and apps and i hit accept...thanks for all the incite so far though but i think i have tried all the suggestions so far, still stuck

I have had a similar issue, i spoke with microsoft following the problem, they suggested deleting your profile fron your xbox and reinstalling your profile. And after i did that it worked perfect

I do have xbox live gold because this is a second xbox and when i sig in on my original xbox i can play online with no issues. And i have tried deleting my account but keeping game data and that did not help either. I will follow the link for support as
my next step. Thank you

try restarting your router by turning it off and unplugging the power for 5 minutes.

then in your Network Settings on the Xbox test your connection and multiplayer connection to see if there are any errors there preventing the Xbox from connecting to Live.

if so please delete your account from the console but keep game data.

reconnect the account.
