I recommend buying him a 4K TV for future proofing instead, , but if his heart is set in the monitor then yes that’ll do it.

He should be aware that it will likely not not support 120fps if that is his goal. Monitors are frequently hot rodded out of spec (165hz indicates overclocking and is not a standard refresh rate)and this causes compatibility issues. We’d need to know the exact model to be sure

If you are going for a 27" and higher monitor, the recommended advice (mainly from others more knowledgeable than me who are experts in computers) would be to go for a 1440p monitor or higher....a 1080p monitor at anything above 25" starts stretching the pixels to fit the extra space and can result in distorted images

Thanks for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue with your Monitor not receiving input from your Xbox One S. Is the Xbox One S still working with other monitors? If not, please try another monitor/television.

If the issue persists with the problematic monitor, it could be an issue related to the monitor's HDMI input port.
