    Hi,

    I recently received a replacement Xbox One S, tasked with testing it before sending back my defective unit.

    I'm sure its just the new UI update that was pushed out towards the end of 2017, but is it normal for there to be no Microsoft/Xbox splash screen when booting up the console? My old one would always display a green xbox logo, before
    reaching the main dashboard, but the new one just shows a dark screen (not completely black - the xbox is sending a picture), before presenting the dashboard. Is this normal?

    Why isn't it so easy to play Xbox 360 games on Xbox One?

    The xbox one version & the 360 version are separate games.

    If you want the xbox one version then you need to buy it again,they're not just going to give away the xbox one version just because you own the xbox 360 version.where's the profit in that?

    If you are playing a backwards compatible game on the xbox one it emulates the xbox 360 which is why you get the 360 splashscreen.

    Console freezes while loading dashboard

    re: For the past couple of weeks my console freezes when I turn it on whil e it is trying to load the dashboard. It gets past the XBox splashscreen, but freezes while the spinning double circle is on the screen (prior to the actual dashboard menu actually
    coming up). I have a XBox 360 S, with just the 4GB of memory (no hard drive). Even after it freezes, the controller still communicates with the console and the Kinect sensor starts up. Also, if I eject the tray while the console is off and close it before
    it freezes, it will load the game and I can play the game fine (no freezing during the game). So it seems to only be a problem with the loading of the dashboard. Also, I do not get the RROD, the lights on the console stay green. Thanks. - SugaredQuill368

    Im having almost the same exact issue, except mine will freeze either at the splashscreen, or the double load circles before the dashboard comes up. Another odd thing i noticed while its stuck at the splashscreen, my controller will go from one green light
    solid, to 2 flashing alternatively. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I’ve never heard of or seen that. Is it working fine otherwise? If you got it back from MS that way I’d say it’s fine.

    Seems to be working fine, yes. So you do get a splash-screen, when powering up?
