Xbox One S Keep crashing after few minutes of use since October update....

Hi, since last update, I can't play any of my game.

The console keep crashing after few minutes of using...

I need to shut it down manually and do a power cycle each time.

Have to wait more than 5min before beeing able to start it again.

Initial booting time take sooooo much more time than before the update.

Once console is restarted, no matter if I am in a game or in the dashboard, it will eventually crash.

    Less than 10minutes...

Screen freeze, still can ear sound for few minutes than..... nothing.

Need to power cycle it again..............

Is it possible to downgrade to dashboard before 23th october update?

    Can't use my console anymore.........

Or is there is another update coming soon? I can see a lot of complain on the forum too... Tnx for your time!

    :)

Edge on Xbox one keeps crashing

help edge on xbox one keeps crashing after a few minutes of use. I restarted my council (which seemed to take forever). I've made sure its not a network issue. Yet it keeps crashing. Works fine for like 3 minutes then crashes.

    Any advice?

Are you using external usb drives?

Reading a post about one guy not having his drives recognized anymore - is one thing that might be a common denominator.

This is hardware that is not Xbox in itself, so might be something to this.

If so, I would try disconnect and boot and see if different?

If works ok, feed back to MS what drives you use.

    Just a thought....

I would do the following: -

    1. Disconnect all optional peripherals (Kinect, external hard drive etc.) and try using the console with a game or two on the internal hard drive.

    2. If option 1 makes no difference, do a factory reset of the console. If all of your games are on an external hard drive, disconnect it and then reset the console choosing the option to keep nothing. If your games are on the internal, choose to keep your
    games and apps.

It's not possible to roll back to an earlier dashboard and while MS have released 2 bug fix updates to insiders since the latest update went public, those updates address specific minor issues such as certain notifications not popping, or "My games & apps"
crashing if you do certain things. As your console is taking an age to boot up and is constantly crashing every 5 mins no matter what you do, clearly something more serious is amiss.

I do have an external drive which is not connected anymore since the problem started.

I don't have any periphical devices connected to the Xbox.

Everything was working flawlesly before this latest update.......

I was able to run my external Harddrive.

I was able to only run a game disc on the xbox without any external device.

    Since the update....... impossible.........

No matter what I start, a game, dashboard app or even trying to reset it to factory, I just can't.

I always getting to a point where it will crash, or freeze... Will need to power cycle as Xbox becomes totally unresponsive to controller.

As SlipknotKiwi said, I have the same situation which is I notice that if you hold home button and select turn off Xbox it locks up and wont shut down.

turn on or anything just the turn off controller or Xbox screen stuck and unresponsive end up power cycling. All this since the latest update................ And I don't have an old Xbox One S.... It was the Xmas edition with every Halo and Gears of War
    in the box.

    Less than a Yeah....

Xbox One S Keep crashing after few minutes of use since October update....

Try using the startup troubleshooter to reset it to factory settings.

Make sure the Xbox One is turned completely off. Hold in the bind and eject buttons on the console and while holding them in, tap the power on button on the console itself. Keep the bind and eject buttons held in until you hear 2 lots of beeps, then you
can let go. The console will then boot up into the troubleshooter and you can try factory resetting it there.

That's great! I'm glad it worked for you. Xbox One S Keep crashing after few minutes of use since October update.... :)

Your saves should sync from Live as you launch each game, assuming you haven't been using the console offline, so you shouldn't lose any progress.
