Xbox One S IR Blaster won’t work with LG TV

I just bought an Xbox One S and the IR blaster is working great with my Direct TV STB and my Yamaha receiver (that is almost 15 years old.) I bought a brand new LG UHD TV a few months ago and the Xbox is able to find the TV with the correct model number
and shows that it can control the TV but nothing happens to the When I try. When I attempt to send the mute command, nothing happens. I’ve also manually entered my TV model number and it still won’t work. I’d really like to not run an IR cord since my TV is
mounted on the wall and I don’t want to have to run a cord into the attic. Please help.

    :)

After NXOE, Kinect no longer sends signals for volume control, all else is fine

Mine is doing the same thing but my TV is a LG. I also checked with the phone camera for the IR blast during and after TV setup. During TV control setup I get the IR blast for mute and volume up and it controls the tv. But after setup just sitting on the
new NXOE build I do not get the IR blast for the Mute or and volume commands and every other IR blast command works that I tried besides those.

Xbox One Isn't IR Controlling Xbox 360

I am still using an Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender to watch live and recorded TV. I wish Microsoft would work with Silicondust's HDHomerun or come up with some other way to incorporate that same functionality in the Xbox One, but that is for a different
forum. I now have a new Xbox One S and Samsung TV and I am trying to connect the Xbox 360 to the HDMI in of the Xbox One S. While the connection is fine and I can watch Media Center through the Xbox One S, I am struggling to get the IR blasting to work.
The Xbox One S is on a shelf two above the shelf of the Xbox 360. From what I can tell the Xbox 360 IR receiver seems picky and doesn't allow for a wide range of angles even with an official Xbox 360 controller. As such, I don't think the Xbox One S' front
IR blaster is able to successfully control it. I didn't think that would be a problem and I just added a cabled IR blaster to the IR Out port on the back of the Xbox One S. This does not appear to be working at all. It is hard to tell if a signal is being
sent, but if so, it is not controlling the Xbox 360 at all. It also appears that the Kinect is not IR blasting either, because if I block the front Xbox One S IR blaster, it doesn't control my TV either. This is really messing up my plans of a single easy
remote that is grandparent proof. Is there a way to disable the front IR blaster and correctly send the same IR commands through the IR port in the back? Or at least get the right commands out of the port on the back, I can always block the front blaster
    myself.

Xbox One S IR Blaster won’t work with LG TV

    Hey EveryAtol7,

Could you try running through the A/V set up again?

Sometimes although it does work for volume and sound, it doesn't always work.

If you select your TV model and cycle through until it completes every command it issues.

This is due to some TVs having similar frequencies etc, it may appear that it has the correct model sometimes but it isn't always the case.

    I hope this information helps.

Xbox One S not turning TV on or off

to turn the tv on and off uses the ir blaster function, if that has stopped working then you may need to retrain it, all the xbox's in my house still work fine with turning the tv on and off viaa the IR blaster.

Xbox Does Not Turn on TV

Hi, if it is an Original Xbox One you would need an IR blaster, like the one built into kinect. If it is an S or X the IR blaster is built in.

    A/V power options

EDIT: You could get an IR extension cable: https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/oneguide-live-tv/use-external-ir-with-xbox-one

    Original Post:

The Xbox One S and X models have the Infrared Blaster built in, as Microsoft decided to make Kinect an optional accessory.

Since the original Xbox One initially came bundled with Kinect, the console didn't need an additional IR Blaster built in. The Kinect had an IR emitter already for the depth measuring, so it made sense to put the IR blaster into Kinect.

So without Kinect, the original Xbox One can't control your A/V equipment.

Help using an IR cable to connect to cable box

Did you setup you cable box in the OneGuide/tv settings section? Make sure the ir sensor is exactly on the ir receiver of you cable box, if RS off even a few mm it could stop it from working. You made sure your purchased a ir blaster wire and not a ir
receiver wire? If the the model of you cable box is in the Xbox one settings when you set it up then it should work, just make sure you are directly on the ir receiver of your box.

I use a cable in the livingroom because the Kinect blaster doesn't work for some reason so I have a 3 way Ir blaster wire that works grea but as I said you need to put it directly on your ir receiver for your cable box and if you want to control your tv
you need a cable with atleast 2 ir blasters and fix them to both your tv ir and cable box ir receiver.
