Xbox One S Headset Not Recognized As Plugged In

Earlier this week my first controller experienced an issue where when a headset is plugged in no sound comes out of it and no microphone is detected, the audio option in the menus doesn’t even pop up so it’s certainly not an volume mistake. after no success
searching online i contacted support and they had me send it in and i’m waiting for the new one, in the meantime i used my 2nd controller which all of the sudden within a couple days had the same exact issue. some of the things i have tried are, updating the
controller and console, completely resetting console to factory settings, making sure audio output is set correctly, assigning controller to my profile. i have tested the headset with my computer and it works flawlessly, i also have tried a different headset
in the controller and it did not work. any tips or advice to help me out let me know! gonna have to send them both out, can’t even use the console i blew all this money on.

    :)

headset issues with xbox one s

I have a terrible time getting any headset to work on my xbox one s. Right now we have two xbox-compatible headsets. Our wireless xbox controllers have the 3.5mm jack. Both our headsets audio works fine when plugged into another device (laptop, etc).
But the xbox controller doesn't seem to recognize them. We do not get the "audio" option in settings menu to appear when they are plugged in. No sound. Very frustrating. Any ideas? The newest headset in question is a Plantronics Rig 400HX. Thanks!

Adjust volume of headphones that has no mic

    Hello!

I recently have the same opposite issue. I plug a mic/headset (which is my cellphone one) and it only recognize it as Headset. It´s weird, considering that it was not the first time using it. I use it on a lot other times, and did work as expected. So, maybe
try blowing into your 3.5mm jack in, or cleaning the headset plug. It may work, maybe? The mic ones and the heatset ones have different plug (Two strips for the headset ones, three for the mic ones), it all depends on the controller.

Xbox One S controller doens't recognize Chat Headset's mic

    Hello,

    thanks for a quick reply.

Unfortunately I've already tried all those methods (except from trying my headset with a laptop, because my headset doesn't plug through 3,5 mm jack, but through the other one) and none worked:

I've updated my controller with chat headset plugged in and it brought nothing

I've tried using the headset while the controller was wired via USB and it brought nothing as well

I could tell that the headset was correctly plugged in because it got recognized by the controller and because the mute button lit each time I pressed

I did try the headset with 4 different controllers - 3 of them were the newer Xbox One S controllers and the 4th was the standard Xbox One controller. With the latter one the headset actually worked correctly and the mic was recognized as it supposed to.

And I've also checked for updates for the console itself - it is up to date.

Are there any other possible solutions to this problem?

    Thanks!

Mic on my headphones is not working

    Hi Warlord,

Thanks for coming to the forums. This means that it is not being recognized being plugged into the controller. When you updated your controller, was the headset plugged in at the same time? If not update it again, with the headset plugged in. There is also
    a
    stereo headset adapter
that may help in this situation.

headset not assigning when powering on xbox one

It only works on the USB port, the P2 port does not recognize?
It recognizes the headset, but I've just had to unplug and plug back in the usb into the Xbox for it to assign the headset again.

    Headset

Hello, are you able to pick up any sound on the headset? Does the Xbox system you are currently using recognizes the headset is plugged in?
