Xbox One S has trouble detecting my Seagate Backup-plus slim ssd

Anytime I turn my Xbox One S off and back on it seems like a craps-shoot on whether it'll re-detect my external hard drive.

Have you tried a different USB port at all?

Worth a shot but have you got any other devices plugged into your other USB ports, the can sometimes run interference with one another

have you tried to see what happens when the drive is connected to a different USB port on the console?

And if your console is set to Instant-On then also try the following steps:

please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

It's a series s and the ssd is a Seagate back up plus slim it is USB 3.0
