Xbox One S green screen every startup

Within the past couple weeks, my One S has been doing the green Xbox startup screen every time I turn it on. It’s never done that unless it’s after a hard reset by holding the power button for like 10 sec. I typically turn it off using the controller to power off the system. I’ve tried doing that to turn it off and on again several times, same issue. I’ve restarted the console that way a couple times as well to no avail. I’ve also turned it off an on again a bunch of times by holding the power button on the console and it continues to show the green startup screen on subsequent boots.

The console still works fine otherwise other than showing it’s age and being a bit slow for my standards. The startup screen every single time just gets annoying since it takes several minutes. Does anyone have any ideas on fixes? I’d like to try other options before moving my data to my external drive and factory resetting

Microsoft haven't said it is. I believe the green Xbox One startup screen will stay, and the Xbox Series X/S will get the new Xbox boot up screen.

In the latest firmware update all consoles were set to energy saving mode by default

You can adjust it tin power

I'm afraid the only option to fix your green startup error is to perform an offline system update. In order to proceed, you will need to have:

A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port

A USB flash drive with a minimum 6 GB of space formatted as NTFS

System Update Troubleshooter has steps that can help - from the first page, select "I need to troubleshoot a system update error", then select which Xbox One model you're using (original, S, or X), and then select the "I am experiencing a startup issue"
option.

Give that a shot, and let us know if you see any improvement!

The scenarios described are stuck on green Xbox startup animation, or no green startup animation where my issue is green startup animation transitioning to black screen.
