    hi guys, this is my first post here seeing as I’m pretty tech savvy but this problem has me stumped. I’m trying to watch movies from my 4tb external hard drive. The problem I’m having is that once i put approximately 2tb on it, everything after shows up
    missing. Okay so to clarify. I had (2) 1 terabyte harddrives one for tv shows and one for movies and they both worked flawlessly, the brand was Seagate formatted to exfat. Once i filled up both 1 terabyte harddrives i purchased a wd 4tb easystore. I copied
    in alphabetically order and every folder after 2 tb (around the letter “T”) shows up “no files found” so i reformatted and tried again. I’ve tried tried exfat and ntfs. And the files all show up and play in windows 10 so i know they work. So i assumed it was
    my xbox so i tried it on another Xbox and exactly the same problem. I wiped the drive and copied in the reverse order this time. And sure enough the same problem happens (letters a-f) have “no files found” error. So now I’m thinking its the drive so i went
    back and bought a 4tb seagate drive and the exact problem is still happening. I called Xbox and they assure me there’s no limit to what size external hard drive i can use with media player. I’ve tried on ps4 and no folders show up. I’m at my wits end and just
    want to scream. PLEASE HELP

    Hello, everyone. I want to ask the following subject: it results that I bought an Xbox One X which has 1TB Hard Drive and I want to store all games in the 4TB external hard drive I previously own but I want to keep my Profile exclusively on my Xbox One.
    My question is: if I transfer the games to the 4TB external Hard Drive will my Profile still be just on my Xbox One and not get transfered with the games as well to the 4TB external hard drive?. I want my Profile to be just on the Xbox One. I do not wanna
    get it transfered to the 4TB external hard drive...

    Using External Hard Drive ?

    I plan on getting a Xbox One next month and I want to get a external drive to go with it . I plan on getting a 4TB external hard drive that has usb 3.0 . I would like to just buy all my games digitally and store them on the 4TB external hard drive . Will
    a 4TB drive work ? Can you play games and apps off of the 4TB drive and will it be as fast as the built in drive ?

    i also tried partitioning the drive to (2) 2 tb partitions and i still had no files after the first two tb. The second partition said “no files found” in all folders

    I think you’re good with pretty much any of the Seagate external hard drive’s, powered or not. There was even a gentleman yesterday asking about using the max, which is a 16 TB hard drive. I would LOVE to see why he needs that many TB LOL

    I'm going with the 4tb which is now on offer. Never used an external drive with power before.

    If you do decide to go for an external hard drive, please do not buy a Xbox branded one as linked to above. They are priced at a premium because they think suckers will purchase one because it has a 'Xbox' logo on it.

    The Xbox branded 4tb drive will cost you $190. This one from the same company for the same space is only $120

    I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

    To use an external hard drive with Xbox One it needs to be USB 3.0 and at least 128Gb. Theoretically and technically SSDs are faster but I can't tell you if on Xbox One you would feel any difference in loading time. I never had an external SSD with the console to check this.

    And on Xbox One, S and X you will be able to install games on the external hard drive and play without having to move to the console's internal memory.

    I think a 4TB hard drive already stores a lot of content.
