XBox One S - Ext HDD Media Storage limitations?

Goal: Connect 5TB ext HDD filled with MP4s and MKVs

    Tests:

    - First I connected a 4TB Seagate Backup Plus (STDR4000100) to my XBox One S that had 2.36TB full of movies. Ran perfectly. Call this Drive "Movies drive"

    - Next, after disconnecting the 4TB drive, I connected a 5TB Seagate Backup Plus (STDR5000100) to my Xbox One S that has 3.32TB full of Anime. It comes up with an error saying that I "...must first have permission to access it." presumably referring to the
Ext HDD. Call this drive "Anime drive"

I already have a Seagate 8TB XBox One Ext HDD (STGG8000400) connected to this XBox One S with all my games, so I figured it wasn't necessarily the size of the drive itself. All three are formatted the same, as NTFS.

When I did some research, I found a post where a guy linked the issue to some odd media capacity limit. It seemed that if you have more than 2.43TB of media on an External HDD, the Xbox will present that error. Just to confirm, I added more files to the
Movies drive, bringing it to 2.46TB, then reconnected it to the XBox One S. This time however, it just came up as a generic "Local Drive" (the first time it showed the proper name) and shows it as empty instead of the access permission error.

I removed the files I had added to bring it back down to 2.36TB, but but now the XBox One S no longer wants to recognize this drive.

    - Does anyone know what the deal is with XBox One S and Media Files on Ext HDDs?

    - Is there truly a media capacity limit?

    - Is there any reason to believe the Seagate Xbox one Ext HDD (STGG8000400) is created differently where if I bought another one, it could handle the Media capacity?

    - Is there a way of removing a device/HDD from XBox one ... memory(?) to refresh it so that it will at least recognize the Movies drive again?

This isn't a networking issue, so the "Networking Hardware Information" category didn't seem the right place for this question.

    :)

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if Google translate is accurate

"Hello, I ask my question the same words as our friend Ambassador XBF Brad A"

I get the impression your post is directed at me, and that you're asking for the same information as XBF Brad A. Is this correct?

If so, Why? If you are asking that same question in the same words, you understand the question being asked, and understand whats being typed. I have already provided all the current information I have. And why in spanish? I've been typing in english, so
I'm not having issues with language. I am just ignorant to the information Im looking for and am waiting for more information.

If you are interested in the same information as me, but reaching out to the spanish community, please forgive me and my confusion. It'd be awesome if the thread could help more than just myself.

Holding the button for 5-10 seconds did the trick, Thank you!! Itt turned off the XBox completely, and the Movies drive is being properly recognized again, and videos play fine. If I turn the console off again and swap with Anime drive, the console recognizes
this drive properly as well... but there's a few issues.

It will only recognize folders #-M (Each anime is in its own folder, so Its "11-Eyes" through "Mondaji-tachi...". Why is this?

EDIT - Originally I commented having problems playing MKVs with subtitles. Using the VLC App on the XBox One fixes this.

Im still however having issues with the the console only recognizing folders #-M

First off, thank you for the quick reply as well as your time and input.

There are two USB ports in the back. The 8TB game drive remains connected to... we'll say port one. The Movies drive was/is connected via the second port. To connect the Anime Drive I first disconnect the Movie drive from second port, then connect Anime
drive in second port. No USB hubs/adapters are used.

Regarding the powering off: in what sense? When you hold down the XBox button on the controller, there's an option to "Turn Console Off"., But, from what I'm aware of, this is more like a sleep mode. I'm under the impression the same goes for tapping the
Xbox button on the console itself.

Is doing either sufficient? Or do I need to turn the console off off by holding the XBox button down on the console (or is there another way?)?

The first time I swapped the Drives from Movies to anime, I did the "Turn console off". But I didn't do it the times there-after.

The computer continues to detect both the Movies and Anime Drives, aswell as play any content from them, and recognizes their proper names.

    Hi Varxtis,

Thanks for the reply. We recommend holding the power button on the Xbox console itself. This is just safer as personally had a drive get corrupt from hot swapping (unplugging while on). Try the power cycle and see if the console will recognize the movies.

    Thanks,

    Brad
