    Xbox one s, enter code and says can't acquire item in selected language.


    I have an xbox one s, live in Germany and for language chosen is english(american). I got the xbox from a military base. I entered in a code for gears of war 1, 2, and 3 and then it said cannot acquire item in selected language, please change language region.
    I have changed the language region to other regions but it still displayed the same message. It says I could also redeem the code in microsoft.com/redeem but when I input the code it says I have to do it on the console. I've changed the language to german,
    changed language regions and I don't know what to do.

    This is because of your language because your phsyical location and they are all BC titles

    You must comply with the region lock

    Your account region actual region and language and console region MUST match

    English isnt an optipn in germany

    Only german is

    My guess you got your account region set as the US

    In which case you must change your account region also

    Keep in mind this can only be done every 3 months

    And additionally you may or may not be able to redeem the codes as some are region locked

    If I remember correctly they are

    This is due to the german ban of the american copies of the game of the older games

    (Censored chain saws )

    If you have a relative in the us they may be able to redeem them but you wouldnt be able to download them becauae of the region lock which would stop the downloads immediately or at 99.9

    Wrong Language/region

    Changing language/region to English USA did not help. The message was the same: "you can't acquire this item in your currently selected language".

    Hi there,

    be sure that the language selected on your console is the 'required' language. Also keep in mind that purchasing content from outside your physical location or your account region can result in issues like this.

    Since it's an 360 game it might be caused by a difference in your account region and the code region itself.

    If changing the language on the console (Xbox One) doesn't help then I suggest contacting Xbox Support by Phone or Microsoft Support Chat to see if they can determine the actual cause for this issue and perhaps they have a solution too.

    That would explain it. Seems you have to be patient or reach at chat support to check this out.
