    Hello, so I'm kinda new in all this console repairing thing so I don't know a lot and I would need some help. I recently got a second hand Xbox One S, and it had image problems, it wouldn't show on TV. I thought it would be something with the HDMI port or the reescalator thingy. I watched tutorials on youtube, reddit and here and I went to the recovery mode settings with the sync + xbox buttons, it worked fine, so it wasn't the HDMI port, and when I tried to fully recover the Xbox, I pressed the delete all accounts, games and everything button and the screen totally froze, I didn't know why would it do that, but i tried to use a usb pen to recover it manually with the Factory Reset files on Microsoft page. But when i tried to download it on the Xbox it instantly displayed me an error, "E101 00000503 80070003". I also searched what that could possibly be and I found some people saying that it was a hard drive problem, so I grabbed a 500gb ssd drive that i had from my old computer, I formatted it, with the Windows 10 format disc option and I put the OSU1 files on the pen drive, I changed the old 1TB HDD disc drive to the new one, put the pen drive and then turned on the console but it did the same, I tried to recover and it popped up that error. I don't know if it's my usb pen problem, or that the 2 hard drives are broken, or if I formatted wrong the SSD. Probably It's something very stupid, but since I know much and the only experience I have is from fixing computer some years ago and fixing an Xbox 360 that had a faulty flex cable I would appreciate so much if somebody could help me.

    According to official E101 description:
    "Error E101 occurs when you try to update your Xbox One console software You get one of the following error codes when you try to update your console software: E101 E101 xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx Note The “x” digits vary. This means there was a problem with the update."

    insider xbox one x update to 10.0.1734.4056 from 4054 fails, offline update fails with E101 as well

    I've ran into the E101 error a couple of times when offline updating and it tends to happen when the osu1 file is a lower version than the one listed on your boot menu.

    The OSU1 update is the one recommended for the E101 error. Os version 10.0.1734.4056 went live 05-07-2018 so it should be in the osu1 file on Xbox support, it's worth a shot if you haven't tried it with that version. Otherwise it's a trip back to the factory
    to have the drive sorted.

    Sorry i can't think of anything else you can try other than using a different USB drive or changing which slot you put it in when you try the update.

    I understand, normally when the E101 error is displayed it is necessary to try to do an offline update, but in your case, the same problem happens. I'm afraid it's a problem with your internal hard drive, given the solutions you've tried to solve this problem.
