Xbox one S dvd layer movie and 360 won't read

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this peculiar problems.

After reading the troubleshooting steps you've already tried, I would suggest trying what we call a soft reset of your console.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues especially from updates.



Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

Sorry, no error message in this case, it strange too.

I tried the 10 sec reset, cleaned the persistent storage of the bluray parameter. Uninstalled et reinstalled the bluray app. Nothing work. Strange, just after the update.

Hi, thank you for the information. I tried these step you said but it didn't fix my issue. Other thing I can see, when I insert a bluray disc (movie or game), it turn instantly and I can watch or play, but when I insert a dvd disc (movie or game), I hear
not the same sound (3sec) and the disc stop moving. It sound to me that it can't recognize the disc layer or the codec is missing by mistake after my xbox .update. (Important, all my games and movies ( no scrach on surface )
are for north america region and the console too) Thanks

1 / Remove the disc from the console

2 / On the main menu, press and HOLD 10 sec the power button of the console

3 / Wait 30 sec

4/ Restart

5/ Try a DVD movie
