Xbox One S download speed awful compared to other devices?

As the title says, the download speed on my Xbox One S is trash compared to all my other household devices. The system notified me a 26.6GB update was needed for a game, & I have 500mbps+ internet through my provider. Started the update & despite speedtest results on my phone, smart TV's, & laptop saying the download speed is anywhere between 500-600mbps, my Xbox is saying it's anywhere from 12-30mbps??? It is connected to wifi, not hardwired, but so are all my other devices & they're getting the correct speeds, so the issue is clearly the Xbox. Est. download time 3+ hrs currently, I researched the issue & applied the "Fixes" given (Clear alternate Mac addresses, close any suspended games, see if the Microsoft store app needs updating, power cycle, disconnect all cables, even power cycled my modem & router just to cover all my bases) & nothing......oh, & my modem/router are in the room right across from the Xbox. Has anyone found a legit fix for this? Bc it seems like it is a common issue which is unacceptable for a pretty modern gaming console.

Morgan, this annoyance occurs when your devices are unconfigured, so it really doesn't get a good connection to the servers and the download is harmed.

So you just need to configure your internet devices now.

They are unconfigured, so have access restrictions, causing these errors.

If you do not have knowledge, I advise you to contact the ISP that they will do for you

set a fixed ip for the console/PC, open the ports described below, disable and enable the UPnP function and disable the modem firewall, if you have a modem and a router the process has to be done on both devices.

Put console/PC IP in DMZ zone.

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

You can ask ISP(Internet Service Provider) for help

The download speed in the detailed network statistics shows your speed in Megabits not megabytes. 1Megabit is 0,125Megabytes so your actual download speed should be around 12,34MB/s give or take with other devices connected to your router or modem this number
can be lower.

Something you can try to do to speed it up a bit is powercycling your Xbox and trying to download again but seeing as how it's downloading at 4.8mb/s I say, just wait.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Kindly compare the download speed on your Xbox console and the speed that you're getting on a different device.

Kindly follow the steps below:

Settings > General > Network Settings > Test Network Speed and Statistics.

Once done, test the speed on your phone as well then compare if they're the same.

If the download speed is not close to the one that you're using on a different device, kindly try to use a different cable or connect it using wireless connection.

I thought that as well about the downloads, but regardless, i wasnt getting anything from my other devices. I figured it out though. It was my ISP going crazy at the time, and my highest download speed at that time was about 1mbit/s compared to my normal
3.5.

Go ahead and turn off and on your router and home network equipment too and see if that makes a difference.

Download speed is always going to depend on other devices on the network, so if other devices are downloading things or streaming video, this will negatively impact your Xbox One download speed. In this case, turn off the other devices and your Xbox One
should start downloading things a bit faster.
