  1. Xbox One S disconnecting controllers with light still on

Recently my Xbox one S has been disconnecting my Series s/x controllers, when the controllers are disconnected the light stays on so I have to either wait for the controllers to reconnect on their own or take out the batteries and put them back in. I bought a new OEM controller and same problem so I know it is an Issue with the console, I did a factory reset if the console and that solved the problem for a day but now the problem is back. Never had this problem before so I know its not my router or phone. Please help it happens nearly every 3 minutes.

    :)

Hi Joshua, my name is Rodrigo. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that.

Have you tried to sync the controller via a USB cable?

Remove the batteries, connect the USB cable to the console and controller, and then press the Xbox button on the controller.

Let me know if it works!

    Hi,

connect the controller with USB cable to the console.

Now go to the settings and look if an update for your controller is available.

If you have access to a PC, please, follow these steps:

    Open the Microsoft Store.

    Search for Xbox Acessories app.

Install and Open the Xbox Accessories app.

Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory.

    Install the update.
