Xbox One S Digital won't run any games

I have recently encountered a problem where any game or application, even settings wont function. It will show the boot up screen of the game, then freeze for roughly 3 mins until it crashes and boots me to the home screen with the error code 0x87e5000a. Any searches of the code have said it is a simple problem that can be solved by restarting the console or game. I have restarted the console several times, and hard reset the console. This has occurred on both online and single player games and both modern gen and 360 games. Any possible solutions would be helpful.

Hi Ki11ometerAC, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

In this case, we just need to reset your console keeping your games and apps through the Xbox Troubleshooter page. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Make sure to follow the steps accordingly to access it:

1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

2. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

3. Press and hold the Pair button and then press the Xbox button on the console.

4. Continue holding the Pair button for 10-15 seconds.

5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair button after the second power-up tone.

6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Please click on "Reset this Xbox" then "Reset and keep my games and apps".

The Xbox has started functioning again without a hard reset, however I can run games that require lower demand such as 360 games and simplistic single player games, however multiplayer games and larger demand games all still crash. However these problems began when I installed and started playing a game called Payday 2, around 2 weeks ago. I have since deleted it, however the problem might have originated from it, and the problems still remain.

I have no external hard drives or devices, just a controller, however the console now displays black upon restarting, and the troubleshooting menu when holding the sync button during startup no longer appears

Do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause this issues as well.

Thank you for the update and that's odd, have you tried to keep the console unplugged for an hour?
