Xbox One S Digital issues with Kinect V2

I bought an Xbox One S Digital Edition console end of last year and now wanted to add a Kinect V2 to the setup but I'm running into lots of issues.

I bought two Kinects V2 and two adapters trying to find the issue but regardless of what I change I'm always stuck with either the USB error Message or the "there has been an issue, restart your Xbox" message.

I tried both insiders channels as well as resetting the console twice soft via interface and one time hard via USB with no luck.

Both Kinects and sensors work with my computer without issue.

I tired to find any relevant information online and found some post of people with similar issues but they always end up locked and unanswered after some mediocre answers about the most basic troubleshooting.

As far as I'm aware this is an software issue since other people are reporting that there Kinect worked till the update etc. Sadly I never got that far since rolling back an Xbox to a different version seems close to impossible.

Is anyone else currently struggling with this and maybe already in contact with Microsoft? I tried multiple times chatting with support but it always ended with them suggesting me to send the Xbox in which I'm not interested in since I know both Xbox and Kinect are functional.

Both USB ports 1&2 are functional and build a connection to USB 3.0 devices.

If you have any other idea on what I can test please let me know. I currently sadly don't have access to an second Xbox but am working on it for testing purposes.

mine is working ok, what adapter are you using also what power supply is with the adapter (what wattage/voltage etc), i know there is some adapters out there that just don't work as they should as they don't provide enough power.

I bought this ("The perseids Xbox Kinect Sensor Adapter") and this (CuleedTEK Kinect Adapter Compatible for Xbox One X)

Both are 12V and 2.67A

Both work without an issue on my Computer.

so you are using an Xbox One S normal edition or digital?

Are you by chance on any Insider Previews or normal stock OS?

Using that adapter you, should be able to hook the Kinect Sensor up to an Xbox One S console. The

FAQ guide for the Kinect for Windows v2 would suggest that when using the adapter the sensor should work on an Xbox One console, or Xbox One S console using the adapter since functionally it can be used in the reverse scenario.

From the FAQ

If you already own a Kinect for Windows v2 sensor, please be assured that our support for the v2 sensor remains unchanged and you can continue to use it for both commercial and non-commercial uses. If you don’t have a Kinect for Windows v2 sensor, we encourage
you to purchase the Kinect for Xbox One sensor and Kinect Adapter for Windows—which together, are functionally identical to the v2 sensor for developing and running Kinect for Windows v2 applications. We no longer manufacture Kinect for Windows v2 sensors
and have sold out of existing stock."

Microsoft has consolidated the Kinect for Windows developer experience around the Kinect for Xbox One sensor and is no longer producing the Kinect for Windows v2 sensor. We encourage developers who do not already have the v2 sensor to use the functionally
identical Kinect for Xbox One sensor and Kinect Adapter for Windows to create interactive v2 solutions and applications. The adapter enables you to connect a Kinect for Xbox One sensor to Windows 8.0, 8.1, and 10 PCs and tablets in the same way as you would
a Kinect for Windows v2 sensor. Since the Kinect for Xbox One and Kinect for Windows v2 sensors are functionally identical, the Kinect for Windows SDK 2.0 works exactly the same with either."

So by this information you should be able to use it without any issues, since it works in the reverse scenario.

Xbox 360's Kinect = Kinect v1.

Xbox 1's Kinect = Kinect v2.

Don't believe BestBuy employees who probably only earn minimum wage. THEY are NOT Microsoft. Microsoft has discontinued manufacturing Xbox 360 consoles. They wouldn't discontinue manufacturing Xbox 1 Kinects, yet! There is officially NO Xbox 1 version 2
Kinect. Read the start of my post. It provides a simple answer. People just add random stuff to the title of what they're selling and it can be easy for customers to get mislead by the title.

What I meant in the parenthesis is that the version of Kinect v2 for Windows IS discontinued, but what he told me is that the Kinect v2 for Xbox One was also discontinued. I am not interested in the Kinect version 1. My question was about the Kinect v2 for
Xbox One availability.

But apparently it is still available, at least for now. Only the kinect v1 is not available on microsoft website. I had to do some research just to be sure.
