Xbox One S crashes when switching from Youtube to a game

Hello everyone,

I do not know if any of you guys have had this issue before.

This is what happens. I open a game and start playing. After some minutes, I decide to go to YouTube and watch a video. I watch it for some minutes too and, when I try to go back to my game, I get a black screen, a weird noise and then it crashes and turns
off.

It is weird because I had this problem, sent my console to repairs and once I had it back, I thas the exact same problem. I do not know if it is a problem with my connection, cables, router, or what the heck is it?

If any of you experienced something like this and found out a solution, I'd really appreciate the help.

i got the same problem with the xbox one s..keeps crashing after switching between apps and games...mostly when i'm useing or have used youtube and then go back to game its crashes 99% of the time...but not only with youtube but its the most common

I have the same issue, I have the original Xbox One.

I have replicated this issue when switching from YouTube -> Destiny 2 and when switching from YouTube -> Destiny 1.

I did a 'reset console' with 'Reset and remove everything'. It did not resolve the issue.

 

Hi! Did you try performing a hard reset/power cycle? Restart or Power Cycle Xbox One Console

If above doesn't work it might be also worth a try to perform a factory reset with keeping your games and apps (so that you don't have to install them again):

Besides that removing your profile from the console and to add it again afterwards might help as well: Add or Remove a Microsoft Account on Xbox One

 

It is a known bug, the xbox insiders are currently testing the fix. The best way to stop it happening is to quit the app or game first, then launch the next thing you want to start.

 

Yeah this has been happening to me a lot lately and its starting to get on my nerve. I will be very excited once this "FIX". I personally am not doing a hard reset unless this update requires it.

 

I know man, can't believe I cannot watch and play as I would like to. I have my console repaired by Microsoft themselves, but issue persists. They are saying now that it might be because of "something" in my house.

What should I do now? Call an exorcist?

I've been doing it that way, man. Thing is, it didn't happen with myother console. I had an Xbox One -the first one- and NEVER did I have that issue. Then, I decided to get a brand new One S and this problem happens. I do remember though, that YouTube was
"updated" before this, perhaps it is because of that. Still, it seems Microsoft is taknig a lot of time to aknowledge this in the proper way to fix this.

I had my console sent to repairs and when it got back, it had the same issue and theysay that it has to be due to "something" in my house. I hope they can really fix this thing, it is annoying!

 

I've done all of these above, man! I checked with the support team and they helped me with these steps but it didn't work.

In fact, I had to send my console to repair service, and when they sent it back, saying that it went through several software and hardware tests before sending it back to me, but once I had it plugged back, installed everything, following their instructions;
problem remains.

Now, I told them that this same issue it's still there, and they say that it is because of "something" in my house? Something like what? As I said before, I'm using the same cables, router, network, and everything I had with my previous console, and I never
had this issue. I just don't switch from youtube to a game to avoid this, but I shouldn't have to.

I hope they can do some better work with this, and fix it.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I saw that thePower cycling your console, Soft
factory reset and
remove and redownload profile steps were taken.

You can also report this problem using the Xbox Insider Hub app so we can investigate it further:

1. On your console, install the
   Xbox Insider Hub app (if you don’t already have it).
   
2. Hold down the Xbox button on the controller.
3. On the power menu, select Report a problem.
4. Describe the problem in detail, including when it happened, if you saw any specific error codes or messages, and if you were using any specific games, software, hardware, or accessories when you encountered the problem.
