Xbox one s controller randomly disconnected while console was off

Same problem here.. Xb1 S controller randomly disconnects, original xbox one controller has no issues with xb1 S console...

Know this was a while ago but are you using the instant on feature of your xbox? I am having the same issue with a randomly disconnecting controller for no reason, turned instant on off and the problem stopped. Contacted Microsoft about this but got nowhere
with it except for me sending my console off for tests and repair for several weeks.

Even with the wireless now turned off (using ethernet) the controller disconnects randomly and will not re-sync without turning it off and on a few times. As I recall the controller uses wifi direct to connect to the console. Fantastic.

I am using the original xbox one model

Yes the controller will randomly disconnect by itself. It also turned off when I plugged in one of my headsets.

The controller I mentioned is the normal xbox series controller.

Yes I updated the controller and the problem still continues.
